Future Role after elections, not possible if role limit is 1

We have our elections in December and the new officers begin in January. I observed, if the roles where only one person should be assigned, I cannot add the new person until the previous term expires.

Is there a way to set a "future" role? I was unable to figure that out and did a work around of allowing 2 per role while I make the edits.

At the moment, Admidio doesn’t support assigning a future role that activates after another one ends. The usual workaround is temporarily allowing more than one member in the role, then adjusting it back. A feature request for this could be helpful.

That would definitely make officer transitions much smoother. Many organizations elect new board members weeks or months before their term officially begins, so being able to assign a role with a future start date while respecting the role limit would be very useful.
Until this feature is available, temporarily increasing the role limit seems to be the most practical workaround. Thanks for opening the GitHub issue—I hope this gets added in a future release.
